  5. Q.What is one homemaking skill that you would love to learn more about?

    A. I am interested in knowing more about general household management – how it is to run a house as a new wife.

  6. I’m really looking forward to reading your book one of these days! :) For as much as I’ve enjoyed and been blessed by the Family Daughter, I’m sure this one will be a blessing and encouragement as well! Blessings on you as you continue to serve the Lord and bless other daughters of the King!

    Karissa

  7. There are so many homemaking skills I would love to learn more of. Many I have already done but don’t feel competent in and would like to learn them better so I can do them in my own home one day (without having to call up my mom for help or consulting recipe books, etc). :) Like canning and cheesemaking. And as someone mentioned, I’d love to learn soapmaking!

But the thing I’d really like to learn is . . . sewing men’s dress-shirts (button-up shirts). It would save so much money and it would be so wonderful to handmake clothes for my dear father and brothers and, Lord willing, one day – my husband! :) (and sons)

    ____
Karissa, sewing men’s shirts is definitely a goal I’d love to tackle one day as well! -Sarah

  10. One homemaking skill I would love to grow in would be making meals for my family in general and also making healthier meals from scratch.

  19. And this is my comment about homemaking skills! :)

There is so much I’d like to learn, quilting, soap making (although I’ve done a bit of both, still, just a bit!) sewing… I would like to know about other girls who may be like me, I love the handmade home- where these fine ladies and girls can sew up a storm, knit and crochet to Maine and back, and have delicious homemade bread to go with their from scratch meals along with their own freshly squeezed orange juice. (So maybe I’m exaggerating just a touch!) Those are definitely skills that take time to learn, but some of us (ahem- me) try and try and try, and never seem to get any better. I love crafts, but I’m just not that talented in the crafty area. Surely there are others out there that understand what I’m saying! :) I’d love to hear how other girls and ladies learned new skills that didn’t come naturally or easily to them. Thanks and God bless!

  20. Dear Sarah,

I received a copy of your book (Family Daughter) as a Birthday gift. WHAT A BLESSING! Thank you for your labor of love to write the book. I look forward to reading the next book.

    Hugs,

A homemaking skill I would like to learn more about is sewing my own clothes from scratch by sewing machine (skirts & shirts especially). I alter clothes I get second-hand, but starting from scratch has always been a trick for me as I’m not very creative.
    Lord bless~
