Sarah Bryant’s second book, One Thing I Desire: To Know Christ More, was just released this week, and we want to celebrate by giving our first three copies away to our KBR friends!

There are so many homemaking skills I would love to learn more of. Many I have already done but don’t feel competent in and would like to learn them better so I can do them in my own home one day (without having to call up my mom for help or consulting recipe books, etc). :) Like canning and cheesemaking. And as someone mentioned, I’d love to learn soapmaking!
But the thing I’d really like to learn is . . . sewing men’s dress-shirts (button-up shirts). It would save so much money and it would be so wonderful to handmake clothes for my dear father and brothers and, Lord willing, one day – my husband! :) (and sons)

There is so much I’d like to learn, quilting, soap making (although I’ve done a bit of both, still, just a bit!) sewing… I would like to know about other girls who may be like me, I love the handmade home- where these fine ladies and girls can sew up a storm, knit and crochet to Maine and back, and have delicious homemade bread to go with their from scratch meals along with their own freshly squeezed orange juice. (So maybe I’m exaggerating just a touch!) Those are definitely skills that take time to learn, but some of us (ahem- me) try and try and try, and never seem to get any better. I love crafts, but I’m just not that talented in the crafty area. Surely there are others out there that understand what I’m saying! :) I’d love to hear how other girls and ladies learned new skills that didn’t come naturally or easily to them.
